Airborne9 4
Going to need to get another gun safe shortly, and thinking of getting a fabricator friend of mine to make me one, instead of buying one from a shop. Does anyone know what spec they need to be ? as in minimum Thickness / Gauge of steel etc ? any other details that need to be taken in to acount ? Regards Quote Link to post
Urban Fox Control London 8
Best speak to your Firearms Enquiry Officer. They may settle for a Steel wire rope padlocked to the back of the broom cupboard or may require something with the British Standard kite mark. It might be cheaper 'buying one of the shelf' rather than the man-hours and materials going in to a D.I.Y Edited January 27, 2010 by Urban Fox Control London Quote Link to post
Fidgety 8
What Urban Fox Control said, by the time you've bought the locks, the steel and the hours to do it, you'll be better off buying one. Try Deker off here, he has a link to a supplier.......here.... http://www.djsproducts.com/ Edited January 27, 2010 by Fidgety Quote Link to post
jackinbox99 41
Id agree with that. I looked into the same to be honest. In the end i got a brand new 7 or 8 gun cabinet for 120quid. Couldnt beat that sort of price trying to get one made. If you need a smaller cabinet, a 3 gun one can typically be picked up 2nd hand for about 70quid. Quote Link to post
Urban Fox Control London 8
I have a brand new Bratton Pistol / Ammo cabinet for sale for £50 cash. Can deliver to North / East London Area. Sorry, no raw bolts, but you can get them at Wickes or B & Q. Quote Link to post
JonathanKent 16
I bought my new rifle safe a little while ago from here: http://www.discountsafes.co.uk/Gun_Safes_s/77.htm I had a really good shop around and I could find anywhere cheaper. Ordered it and it arrived no probs within a couple of days I would recomend them. Best of Luck Jonno Quote Link to post
Deker 3,478
By all means have a try to make one but as others have said it may well cost you a lot more than buying one complete, and may well cause the FEO some grief. Lots of Cabinets on the market, have a look around, then have a look here ...... http://www.djsproducts.com/ Anything that suits PM me, and I'll let you have best price. ATB!! Quote Link to post
