harrygrey382 1
I just noticed on my account balance the police have chashed my check for my variation (243), does this mean they plan on granting it? Quote Link to post
Dan_Smiff 2
I would say so - do you have reason to think they wont grant it? Quote Link to post
harrygrey382 1
I would say so - do you have reason to think they wont grant it? Well I got the impression it was going to be a bumpy ride. FLO tried to suggest I should wait a year or so to "get some experience" as he won't grant a mentoring condition as he says it's not binding. I insisted, politely and it came down to needing a couple more supervised stalks (or whatever experience in 2 weeks). I have two very helpful stalker friends who should be able to smoothe things over, but the FLO was still being reluctant. I'm expecting his call in another week, so I thought this was premature. But I've heard cashing the cheque can be sign all is clear... Quote Link to post
garyw 0
its not nailed on if they have cashed your chq how do you think the chief constable pays for his jollies? seriously-i had mine cashed once when put in for a variation and like you thought anyday now my ticket would be back 2 weeks went by and nothing,so got on the dog and asked about my variation.i was told that i had been refused and a letter was on its way telling me why.when i explained about the chq i got silence "can i prove the chq has been cashed?"asked the voice-"yes i have my bank statement in my hand and a phone call will also determine who the chq was accepted by" "err-can we get back to you" -2 days later a nice phone call saying "due to a clerical error you will receive your variation in the post sorry" in the end i got the variation but no real explination as to why this situation occured. Well, maybe you should just let me believe that for the time being Quote Link to post

But I moved house about6-7 miles and it's changed to Roy Harbour. I hear he can be difficult, but we'll see... Good luck on yours too, sounds like your ahead of me wtih a 22/250! Quote Link to post
Colster 1
Norfolk have a number of "new boys" at the moment. Mine is very cautious about agreeing to anything, he told me I probably wouldn't get expanding ammo on a first ticket and I'd have to wait until renewal! Luckily the office intervened... they told me if I was applying for pest/vermin control, expanding ammo was put on there by default. Quote Link to post

All this discussion on here as to which forces will grant what firearms and ammo types is pretty clear evidence that this country needs a single centralised licensing agency - not over 40 separate ones.
