s horsfield 7 Posted January 27, 2010 Report Share Posted January 27, 2010 Does anyone know of a good ferret friendly vet, i'm in worksop which is north notts/South yorkshire area.My Hob as got a lump in his throat.Its not an abcess because its rock hard, hes had it before but just sorted its self out. longnetter 32 Posted January 27, 2010 Report Share Posted January 27, 2010 You need to find your local ferret welfare society mate they'll know a good ferret vet in your area - I'm not sure if North Notts Ferrets are still going - just google ferret welfare societies there's loads of them . CountryHOG 0 Posted January 29, 2010 Report Share Posted January 29, 2010 HOW FAR YOU WILLING TO TRAVEL, ive had ferrets in the past with lumps under throat, really bad abscess caused by infection from eating bones that have punctured the inner lining of throat area. i think it was a gland or something, vet where i am is brilliant, some arses will say knock it on the head but then again these would no doubt say the same thing about a family member as well. im only across the border down the A17 it depends how far you want to pay to have put right. End of the day you sound like you respect your PETS working or otherwise they need it. Look around your local vets bet you find one that knows what they are talking about. they are used to small animals and all small animals have similar ailments. Quote Link to post
