william slater mcgregor 2
coat, in ,my eyes. lakeys are rough, pats smooth so how come frank buck produced rough coated terriers called patterdales,is it not because he came from patterdale and there was both smooth and rough coated terriers in and around patterdale which is in lakeland surely lakys fells and patts are all the same type of terrier atb Quote Link to post

snorker 2
I run buck line patterdales and have for a good while now and they suit me great, i dont think either breed is better than the other to me a terrier either works or it dont you get none starters in both types and you get good dogs in both types. MIGHT BE TALKIN OOT OV TURN, BUT SURELY THAT STATEMENT CONCLUDES THE QUEERY. Quote Link to post
Attack Fell Terrier 864
I agree with what GoldFinch says, a good working terrier is a good working terrier. They come in different breeds shapes and colours. But speaking from my experience Patt's seem to be easier to get going than the Lakey's I've witnessed work, but then maybe its just that I haven't seen a top notch Lakey's work? I don't know? What ever the case, make sure you buy a pup out of proper working stuff, and make sure the sire and Dam are doing what you'd want out of a terrier, regardless of the breed. Quote Link to post
