as chicks they are mostly insectiverous,as poults/adults alsmost herbivore taking anything from grass to seeds of any plant they find.

 

if they ate virgins they would starve around here and the kids are born at about 16 too

cut one open and have a look in the sack at top of chest (if its full) give you hands on examples of what they eat but as said seeds and grubs and insects mainly for a pheasent out and about i should think
