steveS.Yorks 161
Daks Not having a go mate, just thought you seem to fit the steriotypical picture the anti hunt lobby want to portray dog lads as,no need to explain yourself. Just for the record ive seen wire streched between trees to purposly damage dogs,i think the culprit was a Pakkistani doctor that bought a large house and grounds we used to hunt in yrs ago. Ive had farmers/keepers in my family, none of them ever shot hunting dogs, sheep worriers yes,but i find lads that grow up on council estates and then become farmers/keepers realise we dont still live in the dark ages, when you could be flogged for catching a few rabbits, they also realise what would happen to them, the bumpkins think its a joke, ive lost count of the times some inbred has threatened me with a shotgun, for a few rabbits/hares? personally ive never stolen or done any damage while mooching about, unless you count the rabbits/hares that is? To be honest i can understand some landowners getting pissed off when they get a lot of hassle, but shooting dogs[and people]gets messy if you pick on the wrong lads, and when they get it back what do they do these "hard men" they run to the law with their tail between their legs. Guest Daks
steve, i see your point, you have to remember though differant parts of the country have differant types of farms up here they are sheep farms and arable so you go out with a dog poaching your just asking for trouble most of the time and i am very reluctant when i meet someone to let them run around the sheep as its me who'l get it off the farmer!! trainee keepers from all over the country come to get work experiance on the estate that has most of the land around my area and i have numbers for people who live in hampshire, glouctershire, wiltshire and lancashire all of which i have met in the pub got talking about dogs, they usually say bull x's are shite so i take them out with mine, as i keep saying he is no world beater but i really would put him against anything on rabbits i am that confidant he'l hold his own, we come back and we swap numbers lol get another beer and talk more shite, these lads are sound but no matter where you live you will always get arseholes both those that go poach and those that work/own the land its just the way it is. sambam 8
can i just say that daks is getting alot off shit over his post in another topic, all he said was ideas that he had seen first hand to stop people poaching, (i could say i few more). he is not a school kid, anti, cruel to dogs ect like people are asuming, he is a sound, genuine bloke who cares for his dogs better than alot of people i know. he has some great permissoin and was kind enough to drive alot of miles to pick me up and take me out with him to get my pup some easy bunnies then drive me back home, i can not thank him enough for a good night out and great company. as for the lad with the handgun, i know him and when he told me about the inccident i was not suprised as he has abit of a screw loose (not daks)i know lads who would not think about pulling a gun, knife or weapon and use it if confronted by landowner/farmer/keeper but in my mind there idiots as they in the wrong for poaching and should be prepared to take the conciquences. as for daks bullx he was exellent for a dog of his age carrying an old injury, better than most younger "good" dogs i have seen work. can i add that this reply is not to cause any arguments but i felt it was only right for me to dismiss some peoples assumsions of someone they have never met on the subject of the topic what would a 5/8 saluki 1/8 bull 2/8 grey would look like? anybody got any pics alb sam Quote Link to post
