AlbertJ 569
best working show in ireland at the moment its run the same as earthdog running show for working dog the people that run it are hunting people plus all money goes back in to hunting and is a very good day out will wait and see will albert and shamus be there Fionn, Unfortunately Seamus and I will not be there. As you are aware the BASC Fair planned for the 1st&2nd May ( its traditional dates) for several years has been cancelled and a number of people/groups in the area asked us to look at saving a show at Ballywalter. We are running a new replacement event at Ballywalter on Sunday 2nd May at 10.00 to 6.00pm. I genuinely wasn't aware of the Rockview Show but had been approached to sponsor something at it before I knew the date. I had provided modest support within a small budget for terrier & lurcher shows I had allocated on top of our main sponsorship budget and in spite of it clashing with our new show I am advertising it FOC in the magazine. Yes we will have terriers & lurchers at our event but I think the two shows are far enough apart geographically that I don't think they will affect each other too much especially as Ballywalter has run on that date for several years. I will liaise with Johnny for 2011 to see if we can avoid a clash. Albertj PS. Our interest in reviving this show is not to make money but to keep open an early season Game Fair in Co.Down. As such we have already made a large commitment to prizes, attractions and publicity ourselves PLUS we are giving TWO SHOWS for the PRICE of ONE admission for the public i.e. The Ballywalter ticket also gives you admission to Shanes Castle for the normal price of admission to Shanes. With the shows being c 200 miles apart and Johnny's much closer to Dublin, Limerick, Cork and Galway I don't really see a problemfor him AND we are advertising his show FOC in the next issue of the Irish Countrysports and Country Life magazine. Johnny85 50
This year apart from having a new falconry display, we will also have Old McDonalds Farm Shop from Carlow at the show. This is the official stockists in Ireland for all the DD timber products (John H from this site) and also stocks all the Bellman and Flint range. They also stock all the bull dog shovel range. If you need any form of terrier, lurcher or hound work equipment they will find it, and bring to the show for you. Good Hunting Johnny85 Any questions pm or email to terrierwork@live.ie
Johnny85 50
Is there any members on this forum that have shops or businesses that are doggy related that may consider bringing a stand to our show. Any interested parties email to terrierwork@live.ie or pm to myself. Hope to see you all on May 2nd. Same venue as last year. Good Hunting Johnny85
