Hedge_hunter27 18
Had a quick look out last night to a local farm for a spot of ratting, only stayed for around half an hour as we had my nephew staying and it was getting late . 2 Quote Link to post

pointer 543
looks like you had a bit of fun, with ratting in the night do u bolt them or get the ones out feeding only asking because i aint been ratting in the night before most of the rats i get at night,id say eight out of ten, have to be marked and then either dug out, poked out or the piles of various rubbish moved to get at them.i get the odd one running down byers and across farmyards but not very often.i dont get to go onto places over run with rats so almost every one takes time to get at.out of the three rats above one was dug out of a rotting silage bale, one dug out of the hard packed straw in a calf pen and one poked out from under a heavy rusting steam cleaner. i had a look out with half and half yesterday afternoon but few rats were found and some of those marked couldnt be shifted.the wet weather before christmas and then the snow after has taken its toll on numbers i think.still its all good fun. after that i went lamping with the lurchers with arcticgun and another mate but few rabbits were seen and most of those were skinny things.what with all the mixy and then the month of cold and snow the rabbits have taken a battering.we only took 13 bunnies.
