andy s410c 61
Arrived at the top quarry for 9am,no wind & overcast, snowy looking sky.The snow had but gone but further up the dale it was still hanging around in patches. The grafters today were Jet & Ruby,no hob today as the rabbits would'nt have stood much chance of reaching the nets with the poor state they'd be in. Started off in the quarry bottom after seeing a couple fall into a set, quickset ran round & few nets placed started with 2 which looked like they'd had a bit of a feed. I clambered up the North quarry wall & ran the quickset round the fallen tree set & bagged 2 but a rabbit peered at the hole twice & would'nt bolt...ended up with a mark at 5ft the large jill came out after 15mins or so.... Did the large bank set further along & bagged 2 into the quickset. Noticed 1 drop into a small set along the wall some 6 holes, netted up & put the large jill in,plenty of thumping & squealing, magic box saying 2ft as i took the top soil off a limestone slab appeared however it was only small & as i lifted it the jill peered out with the rabbit stuck in the stop end... Ended the day with 7 with a couple in decent nick however 1 was skin & bone.... Quote Link to post
