Sweeney-Todd 208
Hi Lee. I would be tempted to have a walk around with a metal detector ( if I had one ) If you could find where they used to dump their rubbish, might get a few goodies mate? Had my Lurcher out years ago on some ground at the back of us, he was digging in a burrow,in the middle of a thicket, and I spotted a bottle neck poking out. Came home for a spade and had a dig around, got some nice bottles, pot lid's, and clay bottles too, even some old medicine bottles, great result, and interesting too. Look forward to the new pic's mate. ATB. Bill. Quote Link to post

rick12345 181
Looks like you had a good day there. Looks like a lovely bit of permission, wish there was some like that near me, its all bloody flat here.... Quote Link to post
Lee85 44
it is a nice bit of permission but it's not as big as it looks, it's quite small really, wev'e shot most of the squirrels in there! you do still see them but not half as many, i'm hoping my run of permission letters is going to pull a new bit of land in Quote Link to post
Alexisrouzee 6
great shooting i love a good bit of stalking through woodland, and that moment the grey fluffy tailed invader is looking down the rifling of your barrel.... priceless keep it up Quote Link to post
JackReid 35
Hello mate, Good post but I got a couple of questions! Firstly, how did the 10 am shoot compare to the 6am shoot? Which quarry was there noitcebly less of? Rabbits I assume? And also your picture of that paving and old building foundations, any idea what they are? All the best Jack Quote Link to post

Good observation on the earthworks mate, I'm studying archaeology and at first that rang alarm bells, the flooring looked potentially as old as the Romans if not before, however could be as new as the 50's! Its good finding all little bits lying around, us human have half made a mess over the years! Jack Quote Link to post

Your right we have made a mess, and sadly some of it will never be cleaned up....and some have the nerve to call it progress Archaeology....interesting subject, and I expect there is still so much more that has not been found yet. Good luck with the studies mate. Bill. Quote Link to post

All the best Jack The 10am compared to the 6am shoot - definatley less rabbits, less coffee drunk & less of smelling my mates guts in the hide! - we mainly went for squirrels & birds. The paving bits you see are an old conservatory, one that would of been used to 'entertain' - it's mosiac like, I've found out that it was demolished in the 50's - I think it may have been built sometime in the 1800's. i'm told By the time of WWII it was in a state of disrepair, and was left to rot: Quote Link to post
