HELP.... looking for a fishfinder

Recommended Posts

well basically i am looking for a good fishfinder.

i have up to now been looking at a Garmin Fishfinder 140 ( FF140 ) 50KHz and 200KHz ( http://www.mysatnav.ie/garmin-fishfinder-140 ) & the Garmin Fishfinder 160C ( FF160C ) 50KHz and 200KHz ( http://www.mysatnav.ie/garmin-fishfinder-160c ).

while the above are good models they are not overly mobile and seeing as i do not own a boat but rather use different boats in different locations. i can also buy a Garmin Portable Case For 90/140/160C ( http://www.marineparts.ie/electronics/fishfinders/garmin-portable-case-for-90-140-160c.html ).

so if i had all that it means more cumbersum stuff to lug about, plus batteries needed.

another option i have is a Humminbird PiranhaMAX 160 Portable ( http://www.mynewcheap.co.uk/products/details/humminbird-piranhamax-160-portable/14946/ ). this option seems best because it is all in a carry bag battery & charger included. tho i have to say the display is not as graphic as the garmin modlels.

so has anybody ever used any of the above and what did you think of it/them ?

of if you know of any other fishfinders that are worth me taking a look at please let me know.

i mainly fish for pike but also do a lot of coarse fishing in the summer.

many thanks for looking
