darrell jnr 16 Posted April 23, 2011 Report Share Posted April 23, 2011 sad ending to what would of been a promising young dog poacher,the main thing is you tried, relentlessly by the looks of things,reminds me of a dig we,??well i say we ,my dad and his pals dug to a red lakeland type we had when i was 17(there abouts)3 days and nights we dug for the dog ,over 27ft,successful outcome though,like you said poacher if your prepared to put your dog to ground the you gotta be prepared to dig him/her out...atb poacher....darrell. 1 Quote Link to post

vduben 55 Posted April 24, 2011 Report Share Posted April 24, 2011 this is the deepest and hardest dig ive had in my life 18 foot to find my dog dead after he run up a old storm pipe on a daily walk id like to thank a few members of this site hafod,wife,bitch,jake bull x and thier friends i would also like to thank the lads that offered to come up even from as far as scotland in the end we had to get a drain camera up there to help us out sadly the dog was found dead after 5 days heres where he went in the 1st hole we dug but the dog was further on a pic of inside the pipe where the dog was me inside the hole listening to the dog still going after 2 days how much further on the dog was from where we dug we also got a jcb to give us a hand but this happened so we done it by hand heres a pic of the dog griff i lost 18 months old coming on to be a good dog sorry to here about your dog mate, just out of curiosity, how did the dog die? exhaustion? fatal wound? that is one of the reasons why i dont let my dog off the lead really out in the fields, he would go down anything! lurcher330 2,301 Posted May 23, 2011 Report Share Posted May 23, 2011 my hardest dig was 16 foot into a railway bank that was all shaell in a place i was not meant to be in we started a 9 oclock in morning and finished at 2 o clock the next morning .but one good thing about it was i was out trying my glen of imal x patterdale bitch that stock with her quarry until we got to her .we had dug this earth a few times before but we always got to dig out in the field with a dig of about 4 or 5 feet but i will never go back to it again Quote Link to post

I came to a impass that could not go on futher without machines. The land owner {state of N,J.} would not give permission after two days of solid work.
