Coyotehunter 689 Posted January 23, 2010 Report Share Posted January 23, 2010 I thought you lads might like to see some pictures of the MAHS last year , its held at Shakertown in Kentucky, it was judged by Chris Ryan from the Scarteen you might notice the difference in some of the hounds, the big Black and Tan hound are Pennmarydel, and some of the tri's are this type as well , there are also pure English and Welsh and cross breds 1st Stallion hound and his Get London Dalesman 03 Sporran and Sprinkle my son Giacomo and Dalesman again London Nightcap and Nightingale Unentered Bitches Lurcher Champion Lurcher Beech Grove Pack Class Long run hound Chris Ryan in the foreground Quote Link to post

Coyotehunter 689 Posted January 30, 2010 Author Report Share Posted January 30, 2010 I thought you lads might like to see some pictures of the MAHS last year , its held at Shakertown in Kentucky, it was judged by Chris Ryan from the Scarteen you might notice the difference in some of the hounds, the big Black and Tan hound are Pennmarydel, and some of the tri's are this type as well , there are also pure English and great pics,love them black&tans Hi Terrier410, they're very different the Pennmarydels , they were bred for the states of Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, hence the acronym Pennmarydel, they're very methodical hounds , brilliant noses , tremendous voices, but tend to on the slower side, some people have bred them to be faster but as a whole they're slow accurate hounds, for a lot of people they dwell way too much, but for me they cross well with quicker types of hounds, personally i like around a quarter or an eighth, that way you get the nice voice and good nose but without the dwelling tendancies, but as a pure bred they suit the country they were originally bred for, which is hilly mountainous, swampy, where its hard to keep in contact with hounds, so the fact that they're slower and have beautiful voices means that when you can't quite get to them you've enough time to go around whatever's stopping you from getting to them and you can still hear them Quote Link to post
