when i first got my pup i got them wee wee pads and kept moving them closer and closer to the door eventually he just went and started crying at back door to go to the toilet outside. Or every time he or she goes to squat to go try and get them and put outside.

The wee wee pads can be bought in all pet shops, they have a special scent that makes the dogs wanna go on them. hope this helps.. nicole

Ten weeks and only just starting to house train? how long have you had the pup? :hmm:

Kinda shot yourself in the foot letting it go in the house in the first place. :whistling:

Get yourself a crate, this is the easiest way for you. don't get a crate that's too large or it defeats the object :big_boss:

A pup can't control itself until about 12 weeks, but you should have started it's training from 6 weeks, taking it out after a feed when it wakes up etc.

Yes you would have had loads of accidents but by now they would have been fewer and fewer.

Your pup would have been fine in your garden even without it's first injection.

You can't expect it to learn if you are letting her go 'where ever she wants' and if as you say 'what am i supposed to do when im at work just expect it to hold it in.' then I think you have problems ahead. If you are thinking of leaving a pup on it's own while you are at work all day then I think you should reconsider keeping one.

Housetraining a pup is hard work for quite a while, but worth it when you crack it! Keep a constant eye on her, gently put her on newspaper (or a puppy pad, but I found pups want to play with them because they are soft like a cuddly toy!) as soon as you see her squat. I started with the paper just inside the living room door as it quite close to my front door.

Work the paper closer to the outside door until you have her outside. It is a pain in the a** but the more you work at it the quicker it will be done. LOADS of praise when she does go if you are outside at any time and never scold for going in the wrong place as you will end up with a dog that tries to hold it and makes herself ill or sneaks off to hide and do it.

Also think of a command you want to use for her to empty herself and say it when she is going outside, that way she will associate the command with the action and can go more or less when you want her to (as long as she needs of course) which is great when you let them out last thing at night and it's freezing!

We never let them pee or crap in the house in the first place we keep a door slightly open and spend at least the first 24 hours with the new pup.

Let him out after waking every meal etc once you let em then its hard work as now youve got to learn it its doing wrong pick it up first signs of it wanting to squatt and take it outside it gets easier to spot after a while lol and if your a tad late dont hit it or wipe its nose in it just chase it towards the door outside if you catch it in the act.

I hate being in this situation when trying to get a good bond going with a pup sooner not go to bed for a week and sleep with the new arrival makes a change from our womans snoring

how do i go about this. up until now ive just let her do her buisness where ever she wants but i would like to start her going in the garden now...she nearly 10 weeks how do i go about this?? cheers.

I use a carpet tile in the same spot it the garden.a pup will p##s or sh#t evey time it wakes up from a kip & when its eaten so every time its eat or woke up it take it to the tile a move it back to the tile when it walks off untill it does sumat takes a couple of weeks tops.its all down to routine feed at the same time get yourself outa bed at the same time everyday sometimes on younger dogs I dab round its arse and that with a damp cloth to imitate how its mother got it to go.thats how Ive always had success hope it helps, but remember routine a house trained dog wont hold on to it allday cause you didn't walk it before work.
