lurcher for beginner

will be looking to buy a lurcher soon grey x collie,i have no experience with these type of dog yet, have 2 cockers,would i be better to get a pup and try and train myself,the downside being that i have never trained a lurcher before or get a dog that is maybe 1-2 yrs old and learn from that,thanks in advance from a total beginner.

Well you could get a made dog and there wiil be a lot out there, but then you have to find a genuine dog and not one thats being got rid of because it wont perform etc.

 

With a pup you have the time to learn yourself before you enter it to work, and then you have the dog you wanted and not the dog that somebody else doesnt.

 

Saying that this world still needs plenty of good homes for people who have to rehome there animal due to no fault of its own. I personaly prefer to have a pup.
