adamthomas64 1
hi mate here my suggestion, cz17hmr with an ase utra mod or a sak mod ,the utra being about £60 more but i find that it make more of a difference on the hmr than the sak, some will disagree but thats just my opinion, fit a harris bi pod too mate, and scope wise there is so much to choose from, i have a hawke nite eye on my hmr (cost about £85) the mtc viper's are meant to be good too mate, anyway hope this helps atb adam Edited January 22, 2010 by adamthomas64 Quote Link to post

happy larry 3
seconding what adam said but id be tempted to go for the mamba scope same specs as the viper, but the viper sits a bit higher with the turrets.also agree on the hawk nite eye scope i have 1 on my air rifle and regularley shoot rabbits on an industrial estate without the need for a lamp, just using the street lights. Airborne9 4
what abount NV for the 17 would it be worth it ? whats your thoughts on some of the earlier generations ? Quote Link to post
Urban Fox Control London 8
A decent set of NV will set you back between 2.5k to 4k. These are real state-of-the-art pieces of technology and not cheap at all. Night Vision is specialist equipment and you will have to pay for what you get. DO NOT go for ex-Russian Army or Isreali NV as it has been reported that they are not safe and may leak radiation. http://www.opticswarehouse.co.uk/products.asp?cat=Cobra+Optics+Night+Vision+Rifle+Scopes Edited January 23, 2010 by Urban Fox Control London Quote Link to post
mattydski 560
I'd spend a little bit more on a scope if you can.. We all spend what we can afford, but try and spend as much as you can. There was an old adage what ever you spend on a rifle, double for the scope. (whilst I don't practise what I preach....you will find situations with a cheap scope that disappoint you.) After 20 years of buying most cheap wonder scopes, I am slowly try to work my way up the quality ladder as funds become available. There are some cracking second hand scope available on the interent..be patient and they will come. If you are buying second hand, it is unlikely you will loose money on them.So if you dont like them..punt them. Try Nikkon, Bushnell (elite if possible), cheaper end of the leupold range... You wont be disappointed then. Quote Link to post
