sab 0 Posted January 22, 2010 Report Share Posted January 22, 2010 just started to work my bedlington pup he's 6 months old. been out a few times with a mate and his lurcher and he's as keen as mustard but can be a pain to recall sometimes. I know bedlingtons can be stubbourn but I would like to improve it. any tips anyone Quote Link to post
robbo 828 Posted January 22, 2010 Report Share Posted January 22, 2010 had exactly the same problem with mine mate. just kept calling her back regularly when we were out, even just for a walk.when she came back i made a massive fuss of her even if it wasnt straight away.they love affection so will get to associate being called back with getting some. she still suffers selective deafness occasionly but is much better now. good luck. oyama 27 Posted January 22, 2010 Report Share Posted January 22, 2010 I got a 11 month old one who is doing well.Just let it be a pup and only train it by its self,its still young and beddy are slower to mature than a patterdale for example. Quote Link to post
sh 08 17 Posted January 22, 2010 Report Share Posted January 22, 2010 My mate has got the parent to my beedy pup trained like gun dogs (to a whistle) they may be to ground but as soon as the whistle sounds they are out and right by him. i am going to try and film them next week end. My pup however walks by me most of the time, i did have a problem at first but she is a delight to run about with she is 5 months old Quote Link to post
