woodga 170
well as the snow has gone from most of my running grounds the dogs have been layed up for the better part of a month . Young MARKG rang and we decided to give the dogs a stretch before this new moon got to bright. my mate Alan and his son Jimmy came along as well Alan was running my deer x grey bitch Flyte, only her third trip out since she had her pups and i had Typp my 1st cross collie x grey dog. Mark was running his little bull coss Sam when we arrived the wind was blowing from the west and it was freezing a hint of sleet in the air and it was cold on the hands from the start young Mark went into the lower part of the farm away from us and had some good sport as he accounted for 10 rabbits  , we walked up wards to the fell big mistake the rabbits we saw were away as soon ast he lamp hit them and we had to give some long slips to get a run , we were alternating runs between the dogs and had 12 when we returned back to the motor. The rain came down in buckets so we decided to head nearer home and have a run on some lower ground we took a couple from there and called it a night at least the dogs got their stretch and we witnessed some good long slips and catches  beats sitting in any day 26 rabbits the end of the night the yongster had to be at school in the morning so alate one was out of the question , cheers lads for some good sport 1 Quote Link to post
