My first car was a mk 2 Escort 1600 sport on an N plate which i think was 1972. It was orange with 4 oscar cibies on the front bumper. I paid £600 in about 1985. Wish i still had it now as it would probably be worth about 5k.

I've literally had hundreds of cars,my first nearly put me off Driving for life,A 1971 1725cc Austin Maxi(£500)what a pile of absolute sh**te,it had a gear change on it like aerobic exercise,it had to go when the bonnet parted company from the car when doing 70 mph (downhill)on the M5, BL make up your own mind what that stands for!

Mines was a black Hillman Minx about 1971 was in good nick when I got it from a posh woman in Bearsden, glasgow, didn't stay in good nick for long throwing manky dogs in to it. When it was time for it to go, me and a couple of mates took it up a farm path, at the far end was a huge pile of horse manure with straw through it, my daft mate sat on the roof and I wellied it, the idea was I would run it into the shxt and he would get a soft landing,I hit it that hard I nearly knocked myself out and he flew over the top missing it altogether, the three of us managed to limp home in one piece.

 

My all time favourite was my 2000E,still is to this day,happy memories.
