martync1967 64
is there any future for these dogs if the ban dont get lifted soon as there are a lot of young pups out there with good breeding from know hare dogs,do you think there is a possibilty that the bloodlines will dwindle away slowly or be diluted to the extent that there are no original lines left?i know people have there own ways of getting around this but a lot of other people dont have it so good if you know what i mean alb martync Quote Link to post

poacher3161 1,766
The lines will survive they will just go more underground in years to come unless this stupid vindictive ban gets lifted but i dont hold much hope for that.Plus lads are seeing the benefits of producing good all round lurchers by crossing some of these courseing strains to good lamping dogs.atb dell Quote Link to post
martync1967 64
do you think it could have an effect on the prices people pay for them poacher?//////////// Quote Link to post
poacher3161 1,766
do you think it could have an effect on the prices people pay for them poacher?//////////// Thats something i could not answer realy as it could work both ways the rarer something becomes the price goes up but then again will the price of a well bred courseing pup go down due to lads calling it a day due to all the unwarrented attention their getting that seems to be getting worse year after year since the ban.atb dell Quote Link to post
whin 463
good lines will go but there will be guys who are lucky to be in spots to test them , or export them were it is legal ,beacause its tite daylite hunting theers other ways to benefit and enjoy them ,but just means you need fewer dogs , as less running with the goverments pressure allways going on about ileagal hare deer etc still to find the diffrence from a rabbit than a hare, when i tell my fellow huntin freinds from america they laugh at the silly bans we have on hare hunting and fox and deer ,in the usa they sell the pelts of foxes eat the deer with abag limit and hares which is a jack rabbit are vermin were ours are game so no laws on catching them them Quote Link to post
whin 463
the police dont catch many people so look at hare coursing a soft target and easy to catch at times , im still figuring out whats cruel letting a dog catch your dinner, or two ,no diffrent than any other feild sport , peole hunt all over the world for food and sport , cant beat hare casserole etc , it was a class ban waterloo as is all the laws are but hurts the working class heroes who go out for to catch there dinner and a bit sport mate Quote Link to post
wullielennox 158
well you can only hope the die hard coursing lads keeps the good strain of lurcher blood needed to take care of winter fen hares, incace the ban gets over turned in years to come Quote Link to post
