southcott 9
I take it its the bedd in the x that makes the skin tougher ? ive been offered a greyxwhippet x saluki, 13mth aprox, but no very little about saluki, worried about broken toes if to fine, or not enough drive, but may be im wrong ? The toe thing is because my deerhound broke his toe as a pup playing, i was gutted, but may be it was just bad luck, as my deerhound bitch has been ok so far,but a bit on the soft side. Not enough drive, lol!! course it has mate, these are excellent allround dogs, and will do most quarry. The thing is what you dont mention and most people over look is, what terrain you will be working. Different dogs cope on different grounds pal... Is it rough moorland, long smooth fields. Clay? agricult? slate? rocky etc... The beddy x will cope with most ground surfaces are they are usually tight toed(if theres enough beddy in them) plus they cope with extreme weather conditions as well mate.. Quote Link to post

Tiny 7 1,694
I get meself something around the 22/23 tts, Beddy/Gh/Wh type's or a Collie/Gh/Wh type something like that or even a straight working Whippet, And for the ground you have too work on id be going for a dog with early pace and good agility and maybe a lighter framed dog, Cause we all know what rabbits are like on short grass, Pure Rockets Atb fellah Edited January 23, 2010 by tiny 7 Quote Link to post

runforyourlife 361
hi a bedlington x whippet u can not go wrong Yes you can, dont get me wrong they are a good dog but again, it depends what terrain your working them on. They can curl up and shiver like mad in harsh conditions, just add another breed into it and you will have a cracker. The breed to add is , collie/grey... Quote Link to post
