I do not understand this "sporting" word people use. Does it mean that the animal gets a chance at getting away? Because if your that imprecise with an air rifle then a fair amount of wounding is also going to occur which is definitely bad.

I'd agree with that.

I really don't think of it as a sport, like fishing, I find it relaxing and sometimes darn right infuriating.

Trying to out-wit nature, getting the better of somethings superior senses and instincts is what its all about :toast:

But sport, nah, a fecking great pastime yeah :gunsmilie:

What I cant understand is a bloke legally shoots a Hare, posts it on a Air Gun forum for fellow enthusiasts and then gets moaned at by w@nkers with no interest in the sport, and I say sport because believe it or not that's what it is.So whether you like it or not we don't give a 5hit its what we do. Rant over..........for now, its bath-time

Well said mate, im 100% with you on that one, just have a look at my post 4X4 Lamping, youl see a few PRATS on there that dont like the though of hares being shot. Plus its the only LEGAL way of control them, so there is no wrong in shooting them.

Well done on your hare matey, did it taste nice ?

I personally would never shoot a hare with an air rifle, not saying it wouldnt kill it but probably wouldnt be an instant kill. Although this picture here says otherwise!

just shows how much you know about your prey mate a hare is an easier target that a rabbit 1st being the target size and the other more important point you will get an instant kill if your a good shot (mind if your not good shot)you shouldnt be shooting at live prey anyhow the skull of a hare is very thin far thinner than a rabbit so an air rifle is more than capable for shooting hares
