mwncidur 0
Cheers for the comments As Skellyb has put, costs £4 to go in. There is also a photography stand that you can pay £15 for, that is an elevated hide (there were sme very expensive lenses there the day I went) As for the feeding, they drive onto a small paddock in front of the hides with a tractor and link box then shovel out 80kg of human grade meat (I think it is processed n site, there can be no bones in it etc, government rules), the Kites swoop down plucking it off the ground on the way past. You also get crows, buzzards, ravens ans the odd heron feeding too. If you do a search on youtube for Gigrin Kite feeding I'm sure someone will have put some footage on. Its a fantastic afternoon out Edited January 23, 2010 by mwncidur
mwncidur 0
Great captures , what gear did you use ? Nothing exotic the birds come past about 20 yds in front of the hide. I use a Canon 400D and a Canon 70-210 F3.5-4.5. Its not all professional stuff that is there, alot f people there using compacts. Chap next to me had a Nikon D300 and 400mm prime F2.
