Makeing your own air gu

Recommended Posts

I know it's been done, but how hard do you lot think it would be to make your own, by useing parts from old guns or cheap guns picked up 2n hand.

Got me thinking this morning when i stripped my old SMK CO2 down for something to do, i would use the air res from tat and a short barrel say a bull barrel, get a stock made. Use a simle trigger mechnism and a loading system something similar to bold action.

Hi Paddy,

A air rifle like most things are made up from some main parts, barrel, trigger mech, shock, air cylinder, gas ram or spring almost other things too.

For someone who has been trained in, or as the technical know how, and has a metal lave will be able to design and make their own rifle pretty easily.

Barrels are hard to manufacture even for a top metal lave so are better purchased separately from Walther or Anschutz. I believe Weihrauch do make their own barrels and they are legendary for their accuracy, but they have the proper equipment to do this.

I know a man that makes air rifles himself only buying the Anschutz barrel all the rest he makes himself.

I have seen some of his stuff and I can tell you buddy that they are better than most of the rifles in the shops today and shoot like a dream.

This man will sit with you and ask what you like in a rifle, what you want to be able to do with the rifle and what length and sort of stock you want.

He will then build you a rifle.

If you are interested about his name and address and phone number please pm me and ill gladly pass it on.

He worked for Ripley air rifles for over 21 years and is a master when it comes to pre charged guns.

Yup. Total doddle. Airguns are just like Leggo...

If you do give it a go, then I wish you all the best.

Cheers.

Edit to say.... If you've got the gear to have a go then why not? I've pi**ed around with airguns for years but have never had access to those kind of tools.

Good luck!
