why would you want a dog to rag mate you want it to bring back for the pot , whats the rag carry on rio enliten me ,only thing i used to do with pups to keep them happy tie tripe up to kennel and let them pull and eat it to keep them happy whats the rag do for them apart from playing , will your dogs carry bak or just rag and drop mate

Looks like their being trained for the track like you would whippets as thats what the two brothers keep them for. Wouldn't want mine rag mad as their a pain to work especially with other dogs, never had a saluki that need training to catch live stuff and they love large game.

I love these threads, But am i right in thinking no one has actually slated kizzy/pharoh/ khan lines everyone seems to agree they are some, if not the best, lines in europe maybe even the world.

fact is they are from the same lines, cruise, cruise junior, kizzy ect ect ect .fact. if they was been bred to further the breed then why isnt there new blood been entered into the breeding lines. im

it seems that the pure saluki has been turned into the new border terrier, it was only 5 yrs ago that you couldnt give them away unlike the border that was like gold dust to breeders. a guy from the

I have actually SEEN both these strains run,not just read their names from a KC reg (often inaccurate :whistling: ) and,as usual, the truth lies somewhere in the middle

The best salukis that I've personally seen have been a combination of the smooth cream Tepe Gawra derived dogs put to FASTER,(yes faster Mush)Kizzy/Pharaoh stuff

I was on Boozers do on March fen, when Wilbur brought Star and her black and tan sister out of Fred (son of Mick Taylor's Fred...Pharaoh ). He slipped them doubled up (as they were only eleven months old at the time) this was always a big day with some very experienced dog men there, and to a man we couldn't believe how fast these little bitches were :o

Anyone who has ACTUALLY seen the K x P run for the first time is genuinely impressed with how quick they are after some of the rubbish written by theorists like Plummer et al

The saluki coursing club didn't like the Mick Taylor stuff and rubbished it, come to think of they didn't much like Durak............ from all accounts an incredible dog, but didn't conform their pretty show standard. :wallbash:

He was put to a bitch bred out of a Knightelligton dog(the only time he was used that i know of,travesty! ) to produce Faraah.

Vance P used Faraah over his K X P bitch to combine the speed and style of that strain with the strength and outright stay of the TG stuff.

How good were they? Tony Howley hit the nail squarely on the head (as usual :clapper: ) in his introduction to that years Forley......"and there's a full saluki running........on winter hares........with a hundred yards start..well, it just has to be seen to be believed!!!!!!!!"

Shady ran up to Bradfords Roxy that year, but what she did do was open a lot of peoples eyes to what a well bred saluki was capable of. :notworthy:

P.S credit to the Rio and the lads bringing the imported stuff in :notworthy:

Mush...........Durak was bred off a Swiss RACING champion :toast:

 I know, think his brother and sisters raced to, that wasn't the point stand near a racing dog thats been trained to rag besides the noise you may get to feel the point as it latches on to your arse  . Its all down to how you bring them up, I like them to behave when i go out but then every ones difrent

i can make no comment about ..cyrus sattarzadeh as i have never been involved with him or met him .the kennels are totaly two seperate entertise ...no conection at all

I put the links up so every one could have a look at their salukis don't mater if they race them if their of hunting stock.

I think anyone can see they are two separate kennels, The connection is their brothers and I'm sure they have had the same dogs in some of their breeding, may be wrong I'm sure you will tell me
