Mark, name me other litters that have auto immune disorders, we know Kizzy/ Pharoh are massively inter breed but I don't think most of the coursing sals in this country are anything other than that, interbred, as a concerned Saluki owner please tell me where the auto immune disorder is linked to the Kizzy/ Pharoh lines

annie dont be concerned at all . one cannot be predisposed to a genetic fault especially if its not there in the first place . this to me is nothing short of a hatchet job on khan .the problem with the litter which produced the coloured pup with the windswept legs were they were very closely inbred the woman that bred them is known to forge papers and lie about how her pups are bred anyway. and a few bitches have thrown small pups by khan but then they have been small bitches them selves and related to khan and line breeding does produce smaller pups but as for genetic faults the lines have no genetic faults. in fact they are the only line of saluki in the country today that stop winter hares single handed and consistantly do it on fen or field . they are also undoubtedly the fastest line of saluki out there as well . i recently read on the sal site a well known saluki man talked of his day out with his sals and openly admitted to running them doubled up i asked if he always ran them doubled up but he never replied. i know of three pures by khan in england that consistantly do 2s and 3s on big land and are tested to the hilt and i know of lurchers by khan that are with very prominant coursing folk that are tested to the max and believe me if theres a fault in a dog he might hide it with a bit of lamping or mooching but a winter hare on open country will expose it thats for sure in a short space of time to . khans breeding as been foremost in some of the finest coursing dogs this country as seen and his line has been undoubtly the finest pures generation after generation admittedly we need new blood because the lines are very tight now but they are definately not carriers of any predisposed genetic faults. theres been a few salukies brought in recently from europe it will be interesting next year to see how they cope with a winter hare one things for sure if they aint got the pace and the mouth that the kizzy pharoh stock is famous for they are going to struggle

brookie sighthounds pup has not been the only one with problems ( fault ) with its legs, Ive seen two others both from the same line, and its not the only fault in the line.

Thats not the well known saluki man but his wife that writes on that site, yes he does run them single, think he match one years ago.

Seen all sorts of salukis course and the kizzy, pharoh bred ones are not the fastest ones out there or the only line that would pre bane take winter hare.

well hopefully some of these issues will be addressed by this new saluki club that is being formed

dont think anyone is sudgesting khan ,,blood is new blood ...the fact is the tepe gawra /kizzy pharoh combination is very good ,and carefully managed will carry on .yes without doubt the lines in the uk are tight ,and there are some who are adressing this with fresh imported stock ..but its a risk nothing garranteed !!

at the end of the day mush, i can take my kizzy pharoe dogs anywhere in the country and i will come home smiling, cos thet can seriously do the job, single handed, get some pics of your dogs up,.......if they are any good

Of course they can, I've worked 3 generations from this line over 15 years but the dogs surely have good general health berfore even considering their working ability, there simply has to be some outcrossing at this point or all could be lost in time.

shame there's not a test for all the faults they can show or pass on. there is only one way to get rid of any faults and thats to hard a road unless you have a lot of money to keep a large number of dogs or as most do out cross and cover it up for a time, me i would scrap a line that kept showing two many bad faults.

riohog i dont know you mate and you dont know me so hopefully you wont mind me saying if your going to form any club i wouldnt mention it on any sites . because one thing ive learnt is there will be some one trying to shoot you and your dogs down mate. going back to subject of faults in breeds . i will repeat there is no genetic fault in the kizzy pharoh lines the problems have been inbreeding and then inbreeding again .and that could have been avoided as well if it was not for other saluki owners thinking there shit didnt stink and hiding the dogs away to stop any one having the blood or youngsters it was only the kizzy pharoh lines available boothy and jo hanson letting people have the lines . and if theres a better litter of pures anywhere in europe than the litter i bred by khan then i will pay a lot of money to see them as a litter run collectively single handed. because the litter i bred by khan every one of them will stop the best of hares 2s and 3s every time they go out the kizzy pharoh blood was exported to saudi by one of the top kennels out there because it was accepted as the fastest lines in europe and if the arabs dont know salukies then no one does . heres the coursing record of khans parents maybe some body can post something similar from some other english lines

tell me what genetic faults cant be tested for ? auto imune was mentioned that can be tested for and any other faults that are genetic can be tested for . not rocket science is it !!

the best test ive ever seen is not idle gossip or self assumptions its laid out in the middle of a fen its a dark tump get with 30 or 40 yrds of it and let go of the lead it usually only takes about two minutes to tell you weather theres any faults or not .

Your right brookie it is down to the saluki owners not alowing people to get dogs of them no mater how well they get to know them, but the way some salukis get passed around i can under stand some of the breeders.

I thought it was down to M T who sold some salukis pups to some of the courser like boothy .

kizzy pharoh blood was exported to Saudi don't mean their the best, just their easy to get hold of. Wild caught falcons are meant to be the best but they import hundreds of Avery bred falcons every year for the same reason.

I've seen both the salukis in that add run they was good but no way the best.
