venomviper 129
hi ya everyone right has anyone used a hunter catapult ? well i have had mine for a while now and been using it on knock downs and now i am going out to 25mtrs and hitting the rests on my targets. so have any of you been out walking the dogs on there permission and without fail these loads of rabbit just hopping around 10 or 15mtrs in front of you well how many of you think to yourself if i had the gun you would be in the pot or in my case in the pot & ferret & dog food and it is always pain staking as you think of taking the gun out with you but dont bother so i would like to hear your views on it and does it bring back old memories ? this one here is hitting 18flbs 27 jealous at 210fps i hope i aint bored you all just thought that it brought old memories back to me so what about all of you lot ? well i am using .44 cal lead shot on this one so as you can see in the picture they are pretty heavy and big. compared to the little stone we all used to put in a caty when we were all kids kindest regards shay venomviper Edited January 20, 2010 by venomviper Quote Link to post

zini 1,939
I have a Barnett Diablo i thnk its called and was sent it for free by Barnett in 1998 when i was out in Bosnia to kill the ferals that were sh--ting all over our equipment in the hangers. I think that they are good bits of kit but harder to shoot and be accurate than people think. After 6 months i could hit a feral at about 10 metres pretty easily and reguarly. Si Quote Link to post

SHOTGUNSNIPER 47
In the USA we have wristrockects - a high tech derivative of your Caty's. I shoot .30cal lead balls close to 300fps. I use these when deer hunting in steep canyon's by putting some scent on a rocks and flinging them into the bottom of the canyon the deer or pig's then get nervous and make fo thje ridges - providing rifle or bow a shot... stealthy1 3,964
Yep! I had a wristrocket and a blackwidow when I was a kit, did'nt rate the Y shaped catties, just used to make them from Y shaped branches. Would'nt pay for one of the £50 rippoffs you can cut from a branch for free Quote Link to post
slingshot 0
Had one for about 6months but i can't shoot it as accurately as my Barnett Strike 9, for sum reason it shoots to the right alittle, but has more power than the Barnett, so the jury still out for me on it. For cheap lead moulds go on ebay is the fishing section type in lead ball moulds should cost no more than £10+postage hi ya everyone right has anyone used a hunter catapult ? well i have had mine for a while now and been using it on knock downs and now i am going out to 25mtrs and hitting the rests on my targets. so have any of you been out walking the dogs on there permission and without fail these loads of rabbit just hopping around 10 or 15mtrs in front of you well how many of you think to yourself if i had the gun you would be in the pot or in my case in the pot & ferret & dog food and it is always pain staking as you think of taking the gun out with you but dont bother so i would like to hear your views on it and does it bring back old memories ? this one here is hitting 18flbs 27 jealous at 210fps i hope i aint bored you all just thought that it brought old memories back to me so what about all of you lot ? well i am using .44 cal lead shot on this one so as you can see in the picture they are pretty heavy and big. compared to the little stone we all used to put in a caty when we were all kids kindest regards shay venomviper Quote Link to post
slingshot82 32
Hi all, I have been using my hunter catty for a while now and find its pretty accurate and packs plenty punch. I've shot and killed rabbits and crows at ranges up to 25 yards, I take it eveywhere lol, always in my pocket when Im walking the dogs. I bought 1 of those fishing molds off ebay but it was absolutely shat! I found a Lee round ball bullet mould in .44cal at www.midwayuk.com 20ish quid plus p&p It casts 2 balls at a time but is easy and fast to use, I can cast 300-350 balls in an hour. Im pretty sure fish from hunter catapults must use the same mould. Quote Link to post
venomviper 129
hi ya buddy how much do you sell them for ? pm me the answer buddy or if you dont mind putting on here i am nearly out as i use mine all the time matey and yeah i think fish does use the same mould matey do they work out to 11mm or 9mm ? or is the 9mm the 38 cal i cant remember now shay Quote Link to post
bobcullen79 1,495
Nice catty VV,just ordered some bands, gonna make me own. But can you tell me,do you shoot it like it recommends on the Hunter website,by holding the "U" with your thumb and fore and gripping the handle with the other 3 fingers? Looks kinda mad and I wouldnt want to catch me fingers! Just want to know so I know what kind of size and shape to look for. Cheers,Rob. Quote Link to post
venomviper 129
hi ya buddy to be very honest with you yes i do hold it like that as it gives you the pull strength of your hand not your wrist matey and yes the first time i shot it i closed me eyes as i really thought it would have my fingers lol and at 18flbs i really knew it would hurt matey shay Quote Link to post
