Neal 1,930
I'm lucky in that although I also live in Hampshire, I live just to the south of the chalky and flinty area so mine is mainly clay. Easier for the dogs but you go home a few pounds heavier and three inches taller. Quote Link to post
doris 6
I have a 3/4 hound 1/4 collie and he hit's the ground hard when running. A friend of mine that has had running dogs for 30years in the hants area and has a lot of saluki in the mix. He claims the saluki floats over the flint and has less damage to the feet than a dog with mostly greyhound blood. you pays yer money you takes the choice I guess. What dog do you run compost man? forest of dean redneck 12,023
when the times up to replace the dogs get something with saluki or cattledog/kelpie blood in that can run rougher ground better, all depends on whether you lamp/ferret/mouch. Quote Link to post
