richc12 84 Posted January 20, 2010 Report Share Posted January 20, 2010 well its through tears im writting this.... had to have my little black cocker bitch zelda PTS today... totally gutted!!! we've grown up togeather and ive had 16 great years with her.. she worked like a pocket rocket till she was 11 years old, no briars to thick, no brambles to deep, no lake to wide, she gave it her all... for me!!! remember those half mile, blind retrieves for cockbirds, where we were told "bet you don't find it"... i new old girl you would.. thankyou for those shooting seasons where you NEVER put a foot wrong.. so proud you were mine.. will be thinking about you old girl, and will be looking out for you this saturday, down in the valley, where the pheasants soar like starlings, i know you'll be watching, my little darling.... God Bless R.I.P Zelda sorry to here about that mate they like kids ant they do what i did get her cremated and put in your walking stick every were you go she is with you she give you her bast ever and she loved doing it all them years and it has come to an end you no it would but you had the best years evr swith her i got dogs to and to think it will come to them is so sad please get another one and give it the life you did with her take your mind of it and give a dog that would not have a good life one sorry again Quote Link to post

God Bless R.I.P Zelda one thing i hpe happens with yous=r sad post mate is that people read it and think thhe dogs they got when they take them out hunting get home chuck them in kennels on the cold nights can se that there are people out there t=like you and me think more of the dogs than we do of the kids hold your head up high and say you give your dog like she did you the best life ever pease get another one and do the same with her she will take your mind off it and give you 16 more years of fun to ( you never no the old girl might be watching and giving the new one advice Quote Link to post
richc12 84 Posted January 21, 2010 Author Report Share Posted January 21, 2010 thanks for the support folks.. much appreciated... your right about another dog.. im lucky i have a daughter of zelda here, shes a chip of the old block... hard hunting bitch she is! and the mrs, border who we bred last year, and kept a pup back, this lil bitch is 7months and keeping me busy..lol zelda was my best friend and taught me so much... patience, work hard and you'll get results, giving without expecting anything... the list goes on.... best stop, or im in danger of coming across as a soft sod!!lol!! as DH has titled his new book... work them hard,treat them like heroes!!!!
