ferreting on sunday

well sunday morning saw us away for 7am 1hr later and we were putting collars onto ferrets and getting ready for the start, Blaze my terrier to mark up for us my mate alan and his son jimmy and young markg from this forum we were going to work some small shallow setts along the road sides the snow has all but gone allowing us to get right nto the job here are a few pis not many mind as i dropped the camera into some cow shit :blush-anim-cl:

here is Blaze on his first positve mark of the day

he was right as a rabbit soon hit the nets despatched by alan

as you can see lazy ferreting with the motor right on the job lol

young markg pulls one out after a shallow dig

young jimmy puts the ferret in the bos after getting a bolt from this small sett

blaze worked well finding the best set of the day which had 15 holes nets down two ferrets entered two hit the nets i located one ferret at 2 feet and pulled 5 from the stop end one behind the other ,then located the second ferret and got another two from a foot dig near the road side this sett held 11 rabbits and all were nice and healthy , we were going to go onto the moor but decided against it due to the rabbits all being to lean they just did not have any weight with the snow being so bad up there so they were left in peace till they put on some fat :whiteflag:

we all had a good days sport and enjoyed the day we end the session with a respectable 56 not bad for a road side mooch
