Think you are spot on there hily, i like a bitch to be 3 years old before breeding, you then know she is phisicly and mentally strong enough, wheather she has even had time to prove herself in the field is another matter.

think some of you got this thread wrong i do not want to breed form my dog she is to young and she is not trained yet i was just asking thats all.

she is to young to bredd from and i want untill she is readya dn fully trained to thanks for all the replys i got they n=been very helpfull

to make sure you must seperate them for all the bitches heat not just the 14th day or you will end up with pups and at 18 mths she's to young

most people breed at 12 months....so i8 is a better age,personally id wait till 2 however no harm will come from it!!!

breeding from pups is WRONG!

do you think it's a good bet that this owner wants to or will have pups up for sale in 3 months time or have i got it wrong.

 

i want have pups for sale on here no way untill she is fit and well and fully trained i love my dogs thats one prob i have they are family to me but they give me what i want do what they want but out in the field they are very well trained so i might have pups for sale on here in next 18 months or so o and they will be 500 min lol will get that to for the back ground they are from

Just keep them apart until she is finished.

 

I know of a bitch that took from an accidental mating on day 3 and others that have taken past day 14, who knows exactly what days is when.

 

Just keep them separated and you will have nothing to worry about.

J.Davies there is no hard & fast rules & you will get the odd funny bitch with there season. I have a yellow lab bitch 5-6yrs old & a right funy bitch when it comes to her season's. I have years of experiance & breeding & not claming to know it all but i was working my bitch unswollen & no blood & no dogs botherd with her. She how ever would with certian dogs all labs do the whole mating thing & offer to stand & tail going right round yet there was dogs all round some proven studs & not a care for her. This happend on a thursday on a shoot then by friday my cocker dog & the father of the bitch started to go mad for her & i mated her on the staurday night to a FTCH. My own dogs were a pain till the tue/wed & not interestd in her now & could proberly work her again now. I have found with this bitch that i get no sign of a season till she is ready to stand & i have 3-5days bother then nothing. With my other bitches i get the bulid up with swelling/bleeding the standing & 5-7days wind down from it & iv also had my yellow bitch have no season for 18months at one point hope this helps you.

this is my cocker bitch mate you prob seen me around with her and she will not have pups till she is fully trained like the dog i have
