air gunner 0
right as many of you all know i am trying to get a flatter trajectory from my .22 air rifle. now i have bought a tin of webley mosquito express pellets the traectory is by far better with my zero at 30 yrds at 25 yrds i have a half mill hold under 20 its 2 mills and 15 im not sure yet havent hit the target money yet, at 35 yrds i have a half mill hold over and at 40 its a 2 mill hold over. this is a huge improvement to my 16 grain pellets. however for experiment purposes i would like to know your views on the AGS elite .22 pellet before i buy some i believe they have a weight of 12.4 of something simmilar. cheers Quote Link to post
Phantom 631
Go to the Hawk optic site and grab a free copy of Chairgun Pro. That way you can see a trajectory graph of any and all pellets on the market. Its so accurate as well. that way you dont have to spend a fortune on pellets. choose the one that looks the best and then buy them and test them in your rifle barrel to give the best results. air gunner 0
Cheers phantom I will get my gun chronoed soon as possible then give chair gun a go. Quote Link to post
AirArmsDavid 0
I've moved from .22 Mosquitos and .177 AA Fields to Falcon Accuracy Plus. 13.4 grains and 7.3 respectively. As accurate as the mozzies but flatter still, tightening POIs by about 20-25%. OK in wind too. And cheaper by far than the Webleys! A few weeks back in an HFT comp I knocked down a measured 59 yarder over water with some wind using my old V-Mach'd HW80. Complete guesswork where to aim but still my shot of the year so far! air gunner 0
Cool I will check them out when I get a chance to visit the gun shop to get my gun chronoed. By the way if I were to get my gun chronoed and it was over the limit what would the gun shop do? It shouldent be as it's a 12fl/lb gas ram and the rest is stock kit. Anyway chairgun pro is awesome!!!!! All I need to do is check my power in the gun. By the way airarms David that hw looks very nice do you shoot open sights in hft? Quote Link to post
air gunner 0
Oh yea I have another question about chair gun pro. Say the gun shop chrono my gun with a certain pellet how do I know what it chronoed at with other pellets? Quote Link to post
Phantom 631
Oh yea I have another question about chair gun pro. Say the gun shop chrono my gun with a certain pellet how do I know what it chronoed at with other pellets? Ask the shop what the pellet is and get them to give you a list of the speeds (usually either a 5 or 10 shot string). Once you have that pellet and its speed, that will give you the ft/lbs. Then all you need to do is enter the data into chairgun pro (pellet and ft/lbs) and save it. Then when you enter another pellets data, the ft/lbs velocity, etc will be calculated automatically for that pellet using the algorithams written into C-G-P. It will also calculate and show the tragectory and aim points for what ever reticle you happen to be using. DL it and have a play, you'll soon get what is going on with it Phantom Quote Link to post
air gunner 0
Ahhh your right I downloaded it a day or two ago and have had a play without knowing my ft/lbs but used a possible power output. And if I change the pellet the ft/lbs does change. The program is ace I love the visualisation bit altogether it is genius and I have now sorted my zero range so I can get 1in groups at 5-32 yards without holdover and under. Also I did the range up to 65 yards and got 1 inch groups. Quote Link to post

A good gun shop will confiscate your rifle if over power. A 59 yarder with open sights!? That WOULD be good! No, I use a Hawke SR6 3-12x44. I have 9 SR6s! Quote Link to post
