Lads one of my dogs has got some kind of mite .Its on her hind leg crusty skin loseing abit of fur.she got it last year took her to vet told me its not mange.some kind of mite week worth of tablets and £50 it went.Any all round cure on the market or recormended cure.Or is it back to vets.

i have a bitch here that had a reacuring ear infection ,would take her vets get her jabbed and would clear up a month ltr it would come back ,jabbed her with ivermec 0.3 ml and it sorted her out left for 2 weeks and jabbed her again ,so far its cleared up well totaly gone for now and has been the longest she,s not had it ,you can get a 50ml bottle fot about £30 and it also kills about 30 different parrasites on the dogs including round worm . i wouldnt use it all the time just when you have too as it can be fatal to dogs if not used correctly ....mites can live of the dogs body for 36 weeks so watch out for reinfedtion Edited January 18, 2010 by dog fox

Remember going to chemist for that stuff, couldnt pronounce it, so gave her a piece of paper with full title, she came back with a bottle, took me to one side and in a soft sympathetic voice she said `if symptoms still persist call back` just loud enough for everyone in shop to hear. Could`nt tell her it was for dogs bald tails and ears as it is frowned upon, they wont sell any medicines etc for animals, strange really afterall most are tested on animals at the time. Anyway you could imagine my embaresment when I got home and read instructions for scabies no wonder she was sympathetic with me

plenty of usa websites sell it have ordered tabs from there before normally take about a week to come. just had a look on ebay a few yanks sell it on there too

taktic mate realy gd stuff its for livestock but it does tha job u can get a dog 1 anal its abowt $ 500ml bottle but ya ad water and it last ages mate

advocate mate works on mange mites fleas and more or less every type of worm one dose does all for 6 months works well for me and me mates

engine oil works tidy just cover the area and leave for a couple of days. when you wash it off it will be clean

hey mate, you don't say what type of dog the problem is on, If its not a collie, then ivermectin based products will cure the problem in either, oral form or subcutanious injection, these can be ivomec super, animec, mega mectin, eco mectin,

 

or if you are near a farm that uses tactic, or your farm suppliers should have it, be warned its expensive,

 

Also wear gloves when examining the area, you could contact it also...
