Groach 7
Sorry about this but not sure if this aspect has been covered before so here goes. I got a pair of Dubarry boots about a year ago but in the last month or two i have been covering great distances in them especially with the snow. Now here is the problem they have been rubbing greatly on the balls of my feet and it has got to the point i am off to see a chiropodist about them some time this week as it hurts to walk all the time no matter what shoes i wear. My dad has a pair of neoprene lined Chameaus that must be nocking on to 15 years old and going strong now bit i can't commandeer them as they are too big for me. But as his have lasted so well it has got me thinking that this may be a way to solve the problem i am getting as they are the most comfy things i have walked in yet and do seem to last well. Now what would you recommend model wise? there is the leather lined full zip, neoprene lined full zip, the Vierzonord Wellington Boots and then the extra thick version of this. So what do you recomened design wise which do you fine to work the best to be honest the Vierzonord Wellington Boots is winning so far as it is the cheapest and i will be having to saving up the cash and cutting back on going to get the money to get a pair but are the zippy ones worth it and as for leather could the possibly be worth £250+ are they that good? Fidgety 8
I'd see what the chiropodist says before lashing out big cash on wellies! Quote Link to post
Groach 7
I'd see what the chiropodist says before lashing out big cash on wellies! I intend to but i am about 99% sure they are the cause of the problem as the pain is the worst by far after wearing them but as you said we shall see what is said i just wondered peoples views. IanB 0
I've got the le chameau leathers, to be honest, are they worth the money ??? No but they are good, not as warm as neoprene mind... If you want a good pair of wellies you won't go far wrong with some Aigle parcours iso.. Good warm wellies.. Quote Link to post
Grousekeeper84 2
get the neoprene ones with zips they are warm and hold ur feet far better than the bickle ones. The extra thick neoprene ones just pull ur socks down eithin a few steps so are annoying as hell. Quote Link to post

I would go for neopene toggis comfiest wellies ive ever had but not the full lengh zips as my pair of them started to leak after about 3 years. Quote Link to post
waidmann 105
i have the ones with lamb fur in( and zips down the side) the best boots i have ever had( WALKING,WARMTH,EASE OF PUTTING ON/TAKING OFF). have not tried the neoprene ones but friends have them and find them good. mahdoidybloing 4
LeChameau are the best, by far. The leather lined are better than any other welly. They are £345 not £250 as you stated but they are worth every penny. I'm on my second pair now. The first ones lasted for 12 years and although the zips are now duff they are still 100% waterproof. kbtfowler 2
I wear the Vierzonord everyday of life whilst feeding. By far the comfiest £105 at sgc just now. I go through about a pair a year but my headkeeper is on his second this season!! Quote Link to post

I've got a pair and never paid that, and to be honest are they worth the money........................NO way, BUT if you want to splash the cash go for it.. Quote Link to post
coldweld 65
My Chasseur with leather linings where £ 500 and my .22rf kills red stags at 1400 yds I priced them up before Christmas and the cheapest i could find were £ 220, my old ones both split at the heal , but were replace Foc. I would have thought good boots like Mendel would be better for your feet than wellies ? Quote Link to post
bert69 5
ive got the vierzonord mate, superb wellies. i get a new pair every couple of seasons but that is only normally due to b*****d barbed wire. theyre tough rubber, hard wearing, grippy, warm. i cant recommend them highly enough and they havent got any silly zips to get mangled Quote Link to post
blackfox 9
Sorry a bit off the original question.... ive got some Chasseur - leather lined, ive had mine about 3 years, ones just started to leak, not sure where tho.
