fordie 8 Posted January 17, 2010 Report Share Posted January 17, 2010 I had a 3/4 greyhound 14 collie he was a brilliant rabbit dog then I had a irish greyhound bitch that was to good rabbit bitch she was put dowm on the 10/12/09 I got a 6 month old collie/greyhound collie/whippet that I hope that will make a good dog only time will tell Quote Link to post

zigzag dan 784 Posted January 17, 2010 Report Share Posted January 17, 2010 At a lurcher show in 1999 i gave £50 for a 30lb 3/4 whpt x1/4 gry bitch - she took hares , rabbitt ,fox and by accident loads of cats !!!. Once caught ten rabbitts on the bounce , long slips , when i got to her she was on the floor , exhausted with the rabbitt in her mouth !!! She even killed a hare whilst dislocating her toe , only downside was she couldnt pass a vets , costs me hundreds in toes and stitches !!! Quote Link to post
surrey lass 12 Posted January 17, 2010 Report Share Posted January 17, 2010 i would have to chooses three the greyhound in my profile pic, took many rabbits and a fair few foxes then my kelpie whippet collie greyhound very keen and smart loads of stamina and my whippet, grehound, saluki, deerhound, caught his fair share of hares and foxes then for fun beat whippet greyhounds at lurcher racing during the summer all my dogs have been a pleasure to own, sadly not here anymore but i would like another one in the near future, Quote Link to post

Catcher 1 639 Posted January 17, 2010 Report Share Posted January 17, 2010 Easy Dash little bridle bitch .Got her 1991 cost £50.Last dog i ever paid for.collie,grey,whippet.Only one fault.Had a mind of its own.Had to be kept under strick control.Best i ever owend.If it had four legs this dog could catch it and most times bring it back.Just had to sit down and wait.Her bloodline is still going strong today Quote Link to post

iceman001979 1,316 Posted January 17, 2010 Report Share Posted January 17, 2010 I have had a few dogs over the years some have been W****s but l have had a few good ones.My 1st lucher (jack) was one off the best ferreting dogs l have every seen did everything yea wanted him till do.He never seen and thing that bit back but for hare and rabbit he was 2nd till none best thing is l bought him for £5 lol dont know the breeding in him but wish l had him in my pens now. My other one is (sandy) the bitch l have now another dog that has never seen anything bits back.Got her off my friend who went out off the hunting game when he told me l could have her l could not wait.She been on hares most off her life she no 7 8 min dog but she give most hares a run for there money.Since l have had her l have not had her on a hare just on the lamp at the start she had not got a clue but now she is flying .She is between 5 6 now so l breed her this year she had 11 pups some friends took pups and l sold a few but keeped back two for myself a dog and a bitch now 4 months old.Just hope they turn out like her or the sire l will be a very happy man. :thumbs: Quote Link to post
