tsteve9999 456
Mine get both, cooked leftovers from the Sunday roast or any other dinner, and the odd raw carrot or a few cabbage leaves chopped up, whatever I can nick while the wifes back is turned. I would guess raw is best for them but they seem to eat whatever is put in front of them and don't look bad on it. Tom

Guest clash
I use a juicer to finely chop all that raw veg up. Pick a brand new one up for less than £20. Mix the veg up with your raw meet & put some juice on top. Soft boiled egg,wee boiled rice, multivitamin, salmon oil & yoghurt. Im pretty new to this, but so far so good & like everything.............trial & error.

comanche 2,941
Few carnivores can digest uncooked vegetable food. Just goes straight through them . How many of us has spotted stuff like undigested grass, bits of apple or even chicken corn in their dog's poo? In the wild carnivores are very greedy for the contents of the guts and stomach of their prey because the green-food has already been broken down and partially digested for them . They might enjoy chewing on a crunchy raw carrot but to get the best nutrition the greens need to be lightly cooked . Edited January 17, 2010 by comanche
paddybarr 77
waste of time dogs have an unsacculated colon and can not digest vegetable matter, if you want to feed it the best way is to cadge trimmings from your local greengrocer boil them in a pan of water and use the cooking water when cooled use as your dogs drinking water or add to food btbh dogs have no requirement for any "greenmatter"
joey1979 0
Spot on commanche, dogs do require partly digested veg matter found in the belly of a herbivore thats why dogs eat grass and vomit it up, cant digest it.

Wolves had no blitzers in the wild, but yeah cooking and blitzing is the nearest to the real veg in the unwashed honey comb of tripe, still not sure of blitzed raw thou.. Im far from an expert im just going by the experts and to be honest im ignortant to what knowledge they have.
