once had a collie cross never came in season the 12 years i had her.

phoned the vet and asked if there was an injection available to make her come in season.

she told me that theres a course of tablets that i could use at a cost of £100.

diddnt try them.

my grew bitch would throw twice in the space of 4-5 month then not go again for maybe a year -year an half !! vet blamed it on ovarid???? which trainers give to grew bitches to stop them havin seasons !! an in season bitch cant track run !! but supposedly after they come off it their seasons are totally erratic !! just my experience mate!! a take you get barren dogs same way some women cant have kids .. cheers mate all the best chris..

THANK YOU FOR YOUR REPLYS BEING A WOMAN MY SELF I THINK I WOULD BE PLEASED IF I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM.BUT AS MY BITCH IS A WORKING DOG I WAS WORRIED FOR HER IN CASE THERE WAS SOME THING WRONG WITH HER.

Obvious question so excuse it please ,but did you get the dog as a pupy or an adult? . If it was the latter it might have been spayed before you bought it .

The best bitch I owned used to have a season only every 18 months or so and even then absolutely refused to be mated . She lived a long happy life and was still coming ferreting at 16 so I would'nt worry too much as long as your dog is otherwise healthy .
