AAS200 cocking problems

Recommended Posts

Hi, i have a aas200 mk1 or mk2(not sure) with an annoying problem, sometimes when i try to pull the bolt back to cock the gun the bolt wont stay back, i have to try 6-8 times before it stays back. also when i do manage to load it i have to put my thumb on the bolt lever to hold it down, if i dont do this i get a loud noise coming from the bolt when firing. i would appreciate any info many thanks..

Sounds like the bolt is not being pulled far enough back.

When you load it and push the bolt forward do you lock it down? (maybe a silly question but its one that must be asked in order to help!)

You should not have to hold the bolt forward with your thumb (I once failed to lock it down that with my baby and she nearly broke my thimb for me)

Yes phantom, i pull the bolt back as far as it will go, it does not do it every time but when it does it usually takes 6-8 times to get it to stay back. i have had the gun for a few years now and this never used to happen, and i do lock the bolt down, always had guns but never had this happen before. thanks spiderdog..

I'm trying to find my AA S200 Strip and Maintainance dvd so I can have a look and see if there's anything on the dvd that may give me a clue as to whats happening and maybe how to sort it.

Sounds like you may need to do a strip and lube. You will often get noise from the bolt if the bolt seal is missing, you can get these for about 30 pence.

Thanks chaps the trigger was a bit light so a few terns in done it, needed to be done coz no saftey on the s200, put a new o ring on the bolt seems to have solved the problem.

many thanks spiderdog..
