Guest jt750
I would get the hob ..keep him seperate from the jills and when he's properly in season get him a vasectomy ..he then can live with the jills all year round and no need for jill jabs Quote Link to post
chrisnick 1
he is already vasectamized Quote Link to post
Kay 3,709
he is already vasectamized I would run him with one Jill & get the others jabbed , that way if its worked you only have the possibility of 1 pregnant jill not 4 Quote Link to post
chrisnick 1
surley it would be better just to get them all jabbed and not bother taking the vasected hob he is already vasectamized I would run him with one Jill & get the others jabbed , that way if its worked you only have the possibility of 1 pregnant jill not 4 Quote Link to post

The one 8,477
Use him on all your jills mate and dont bother with the jab that way if your jills come back into season he will bring them out again and you wont need to get them jabbed up again as repeated use of the jill jab can form hard lumps under the injection site Quote Link to post
auld salmon 28
do as kay says unless you know he has been used on other jills already and is proven and if not you dont know if the job has been done 100% you mite end up with 30 to 40 kits as long as you have the room keep him Quote Link to post
stealthy1 3,964
Your jills will come into season a couple of times a year, so I'd knock up a seperate cage and test him on one of your jills, If he produces kits, then get him snipped, cheaper than paying for jill jabs over the next few years, plus I'm not a fan of using unecessary drugs on animals if there's a natural option Quote Link to post

FightTheBan 1,147
"only problem with V hobs... is it doesn't always work... i know of at least 10 litters born last year to V Hobs... at least 2 of them were "proven" to shoot blanks the year before.... " Find that very hard top believe, i would be at the vets demanding my money back if that were the case, its either vasectomised or its not. Got a vasectomised hob off a very kind and generous member of this site, he covers my 9 Jills, all in the same hutch very well. Jills are never in season for more than a week. Worth his weight in gold to me Saves me 15 quid a jill each year (cost of a jab, i think). Reccomend one to anyone wishing to keep more than 2 or 3 intact jills. Quote Link to post
