air gunner 0
Hi I find with most makes of pellet the skirts are not always the same which could cause them to be a loose fit in the breach. On YouTube I saw a guy primeing his pellets in a tube press thing. Does anyone know how to make one? Quote Link to post
zipdog 0
get a bic biro pen and remove the ink tube and end etc so you are just left with the plastic tube. them simply put each pellet in and push it down a set distance each time Quote Link to post
air gunner 0
That is soo simple. I take it that you put lots of pellets in and use the heads to open the pellet in fronts skirt? Quote Link to post
Geoff.C 0
I have a thing for sizing .177 pellets, I can't remember the name, but you press each pellet through the central hole with a push rod. As each one is done, you store them in the outer ring, in sets of five. It holds 50 when full. There is no writing on it, might be a "sizerpack" or similar. I used it when I did paper punching, until the H&N match packs came out. These had all selected pellets in foam strips. Edit. Just done a quick google, and it is indeed "sizerpac" . They are only in .177 I think, but some on e-bay if they are any good to you. Quote Link to post
air gunner 0
Cheers mate I will definatly be having a look for them and if there are none suitable I can adapt the pen method to work in the same way. Thanks again for the help guys. Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
I find if you buy a top quality brand of pellets, wash and sort them before you lube them you dont get many throw aways. Maybe 3 or 4 from 500. I use FX 16 grains and the quality of them are brilliant. Zini Quote Link to post
air gunner 0
I may try the fx pellet if I don't get on with the webley mosquitoes I just got a tin of. My main problem is not the lubeing etc it's the initial fit into the breach of my break barrel whether the skirt is too tight So it's hard to push the pellet in or too loose as the mozzies are so it's not a tight fit. After a zero sesh tommorow morning I'm out to a permission with some wary critters so will find out how the mozzies do and if they live up to their annoyingness on the bunny population. air gunner 0
Probably the first time ever that I have gone out and not seen a single rabbit. A shame from a sporting view but good for the farmer. However I will be out one evening hitting them hard. Quote Link to post
