higgins 75
look pal, a worker to worker mating's what you need, don't be crossing to staffs and pit bulls, find another terrier that works properly underground, you will be able to sell the pups, not add to terriers that haven't been bred right or just get out of the game,in my opinion just as much damage is being done by amateurs breeding willy nilly,do yourself a favour and do it right, Higgins Quote Link to post

FightTheBan 1,147
What do you use the terrier for, is it an earth dog or just a busher? If its either i still wouldnt breed it with a staff, what the f#ck is the point, it certainly wont make your cock any bigger. I will never understand the fascination with a massive terrier that probably couldnt be dug down a hole. I would reccomend you dont breed the dog with anything untill you have done your homework. Don't bother wasting your time. If you want to breed some pets then by all means do as you like, thats your business. But if its a worker you're after, then just go and buy a pup out of working stock. Quote Link to post
littlefish 574
How many pups do you need? Don't breed a load of crap that will end up in dog pounds - there is no glory in that, just buy a good pup from known working stock. Quote Link to post

Squirrel_Basher 17,100
To all you shouting waste of time ,you have forgotten a thing or two about history especially the black dogs .I dont want a lecture on whats been used or hasnt been used but its there in all black pedigrees .The introduction of bull blood is specialist and shouldnt be undertaken by a casual breeder .Im not advocating anyone try it as most would end up with useless rubbish . To the original poster -Because you have a dog mate as opposed to a bitch [i think im right here ] then its usual for you advertise the fact that you have a decent dog up for stud ,if indeed it is a decent dog .if you have regular digging partners and none have asked for a cover to a bitch then maybe you dont have the right sort . Better to buy in if you really need a replacement as i suspect its not the best dog in the world !. Quote Link to post

hedz31 1,308
To the bloke that started this topic i would listen to all the above comments, and i hope you take heed and dont consider this cross its a complete waste of time buy a bitch in from a decent bloodline buck, parkes, gould something on those lines and start something from there but please please dont breed your dog to it because its a loyal companion and a good house dog and sniffs at the entrance to a few rabbit holes, then sell these pups on as coming from 100% working stock and dilute an already diluted gene pool with dogs that simply are not up to the task there is enough folk out there already doing that,i wish you well in finding a bitch and hope you make the right choice. mick wilson 1
well said Foxdropper ,you read my mind ,funny how people forget the origins of these black strains some of which have phenominal amounts of Bull blood, the folk on here never fail to amaze me ,the lad is asking for advice, not the third degree about other peoples hang ups about breeding ,folk should be helping each other feck knows theres plenty outside our ranks that want to hang the job without sniping and being arsy with each other personally I think there is far to many psycho's on a string already out there but there's lads out there that like the type and the mentality of that type so fair play to them and I respect that ,there is ways to say things without insulting and making people feel small just because they don't particularly agree with what they are saying or doing, personally Mate I would put the dog up for public stud and if he's any good he'll get used as word of mouth go's along way in the dog game and if he's good someone will use a dog thats good at its job!on the other hand if he's just average I would look around and get a pup thats bred right and start again with some fresh blood ,it will be cheaper than rearing a litter and less time consuming for you !whatever your decision I wish you all the best ..Mick Quote Link to post
