With some lurchers [if] they catch alot of rabbits [20-30 ] per night 2-3 nights a week they can get sick of it.Some will just kill where they catch it, and drop it there.? And as well its not natural with lurchers,as most have a good %of running dog in them. And they are bred to chase+kill, not like gundogs=labs,ss,....bred to carry.?

Collie xs will retrieve, but even them get sick of it.

Iwould agree with bird, most of mine stop at some point, just get sick of it(retreiving), I had one like yours no interest in balls ect, so i got a soft toy like a rabbit even had a white tail, 100 foot of string looped around a stick 75 foot away so when pulled the rabbit went away from me, this got her interest it took a week for her to get the game, then i would do it once a day, no lamping untill she was retreiving it every time and looked to be enjoying it, then only one rabbit per session, For the rest of season. That dog has retrieved every one since.Doing the same with another one this season but this one will only retrieve a ball.
