Hi I have an mk3m and when I locate the ferret it tells me that the ferret is usualy about 5-6ft when it's only 3ft. I rang deben up but I've lost my receipt. Any ideas what I could do? Thanks

are you changing from search to locate once you've got a mark on the ferret?

daft and obviouse question but are the batteries ok in both collar and locater

Had exactely the same problem, opened up the locater and believe it or not theres a little bar in side and it was broke in half, how it happened without every thing else breaking before it ill never know.

allways halve whatever depth its telling you

use a probe as you dig

dont dig as fast in case you chop a fert in half

Nope! My MK3m is bang on, if it says 3ft its 3ft, if it says six inches its exacty that

is it the carbon rod thats broke

 

if so take it out and file both sides gently so they fit back together perfectly

then a tad of super glue

 

should work fine then

Yeah its the carbon rod alright, put some foil between the break and taped but readings still wrong so sent it in for repair. Wondering if the extreme cold can make them briittle and therefor easily break?

Make sure the collar is at 90 degrees to the receiver. i.e put it flat on the ground and measure straight up. Do you still get a problem?

silly question i know but what is a probe good for as i know what they are but never used 1,is it just for finding the depth
