baker87 0
Hey, Basically I want to start shooting, I have looked at rifles on the internet and read a few reviews I've decided I fancy a BSA but do not know whether to get the Comet, Meteor Mk7, or supersport. I have around £300 to spend but would like to get some targets and pellets with that. I want to use the rifle for hunting rabbits, squirrels, birds. Which one would people reccomend for a beginner? and what type of pellets are best? cheers Quote Link to post
PeakOil 352
Are you after brand new kit or second hand? Quote Link to post
baker87 0
I'd rather buy brand new to minimise the risk of any repairs for the first year or so, as I'm a student I won't be able to afford any. Everyone on here seems to like the Weihrauch HW 77k, which I could get second hand in my price range....what would you reccomend? how safe is it to buy second hand? Quote Link to post
silentshot1 206
My HW77 .177 is older than a unified Germany (21 years)!! It was given to me 5 years ago. It's still blinding, accurate to a pin and was chrono'ed at 11.5 ftlbs! In my opinion you'd probably be able to get a decent second hand HW77 + scope and still have plenty of change for pellets etc on your budget. Weirauchs in general are built like tanks so stand the test of time, but there are plenty of other full power springers out there that you could consider both new and second hand, with the same or better delivery than the guns you mentioned. paulk73 151
hw99s new i agree Quote Link to post
Edgar 1
I think you would be much better with a Weihrauch. HW99 OR 57 are good rifles for around 200 quid new. Or you could go second hand. Quote Link to post
wuzzy 0
like i said before you'd be better off buying a second hand or cheap rifle but a decent scope Quote Link to post
Mikebee 7
BSA lightening i say my mate got 1 and its a cracking gun for 200 quid. Nothing wrong with a second hand gun my air arms 510 is an that runs smooth as when i bought it. They keep as well as you look after them. Quote Link to post
