Simple solution; only buy things face to face ! No goods = No money ! Why buy DVD's off here, when you get them from any show, probably cheaper !

There ARE genuine people selling things on here, I've had stuff myself, but if you send money to a complete stranger, be prepared to be disapointed ! The Mods can do nothing; banning the scum makes no difference, as they just join again with another name.

So, let's have a guess ........... did you buy some copied DVD's that everyone knows he sold but that quite rightly he wasn't allowed to advertise.

No mate, you're wrong there, I'd met quite a few of the lads who were on here 5 years ago a long time before I ever started posting gear.

Mate, it's WRONG that you've been cheated, and it's RIGHT that you warn the rest of us about this guy, but you shouldn't blame the site or the mods, they can't stop it. Remember the saying, "caveat emptor" ! Hope you get it sorted.

Lads i got dvd's off this guy a few months ago n everythin went ok and if ur buyin copies off this guy i cant see that he's gainin a whole lot by cheatin you out of a few quid (basicaly the price of a few blank dvd's and a stamp) but if ur post is honest and you'v been conned out of a few quid im sorry for ur loss pal and yes there should be changes to the for sale section as some people only use the site for its purposes and doesnt contribute much to the site otherwise..

If these people keep closing accounts and changing user names one of the only ways to try not to get ripped off is to let everyone know who these people are by publishing the name and address were you sent the money to. A word of warning “You have to be certain and be able to prove that these people are scammers BEFORE publishing detailsâ€! We will then all know who to avoid.

What can they do apart from banning the sale of anything on here?

 

 

One thing that could be done is to have another member voouch for another member selling items, could help.

Mods are here to moderate the forum not to hold your hand or be responsible for your actions unless they contravene the terms and conditions

 

I think you'll find that the selling section is a public forum and therefore comes under the responsibility of the admin/moderation.

 

Are you saying f**k it and just get on with it? It's that NIMBY, sit on your arse and say nothing attitude attitude that gets nothing done and lets all good things go down the pan.

I'm not saying f**k it and get on with it ..why make a third party responsible for your actions ..no its not a public forum its a members forum ..if the guy used paypal he has a name and address linked to the guy that robbed him ..sort it out that way ...what he's done is fraud ..you have rights ..its also your own choice as to whether you buy off a stranger or not and if it goes pear shaped then its tough titty or would you prefer that ian and the mods put their hands in their pockets and refunded him
