out today

Went out this morning with my old man to do a few small earths near him. First time we have been out for ages due to the snow and him getting over a knee replacement operation.

Had a great morning bolting "6" and catching "6" however on the 1st earth the 1st thing to bolt was a squirrel TBH neither of us were keen to grab it and stood watching as it escaped from the net and tried to make off across the field before Dads lakeland caught it

 

has anyone else experienced this or bolted something they were not expecting?

bolted cats and a fox but the strangest thing was a grass snake

I bolted another ferret once i put my albino hob down and a poley hob came out with a collar on i thought i was magic at first then my albion hob came out this was on some new permission i had got

Was using a couple of hobs to push out rabbits from a large blackberry bush and out popped a muntjac which hit the long net then got away!

im fairly new to ferreting but on my first time we had a dig and behind a rabbit in a stop end was my ferret and a rat

bolted a big polcate hob once but he must of been lost of a while because he was too wild to catch! never been luck enof too bolt a squirrel tho! wel done

We bolted a pair of rats earlier in the season, the hawk caught them just the same although the 1st did bite her. Also a fox, I'll never quite figure out how it fitted down the hole...........

Aye rats ,mice ,weasels,stoats and a few foxes a owl and once a cockeral .once i dug down three feet and there was a jill at each side of a hedgehog

Bolted a few squirrels over the years,mostly out of walls and piles of stones though...John
