TopDown 0
Straight BOP then not linked to an "offence"? If so I think it will very much depend on the circumstances as BOP covers a very broad range of behaviour. Speak to the relevant force department and run it by them. Sorry not to be more help but BOP can cover a lot. Quote Link to post

Let's be honest it isn't going to earn you any Brownie points is it. A word with your Police region does seem the way forward! Quote Link to post
TopDown 0
Frankly domestics are a really touchy area so you really are going to have to speak to your local force. I would think that given that it was such a sort time ago they will not be too keen. Quote Link to post
adamthomas64 1
the alcohol fact doesnt help either mate, they will look at it like this you are having trouble with your ex missus, you got drunk and then went banging on her door, what you do if you had access to firearms, at the end of the day they dont know you as a person they only know what their records tell them, the fact that you were drunk while doing it will be your downfall imho, but as said ring them and explain, but i think it would be best to wait untileverything has calmed down with the ex, i wish you all the best with your application though mate. atb adam Quote Link to post
Colster 1
Only way to know, put the app in and look suitably penitent for your interview. They return the fee if the application is turned down. Quote Link to post
njc110381 0
This close to the time it happened and considering the situation I think you've got more chance of getting a knighthood that a FAC/SGC! I wouldn't even bother applying just yet. It's quite a minor issue but given that you were angry at your ex and drunk at the time they're just not going to risk it this soon. It's that close you may as well be asking for the forms so you could fill them in in the cell! I'd leave it for at least six months then ring them and express your interest. Tell them the details and ask how soon they think you could reasonably ask for a certificate. Tell them that it's not in your nature to get that way but things just got out of hand because you were upset. I'm sure they'll be reasonable with you and say come back in a year or something? I'd agree with this. Speak to them first. I don't think you should just apply and hope for a good outcome though. If you get refused you have to state the fact on every application and renewal thereafter and having to do that always looks bad, in my opinion. J. Quote Link to post
Blakloks 5
cheers guys i think i will just have to leave it till the dust settles a bit Quote Link to post
foxshooter69 6
do you currently hold a SGC, (looking at your profile photo)? if so, did you have a nasty letter regarding the outcome of your BOP, if you do hold a SGC and you did not have a nasty letter then i see no reason why you cant have your FAC.IMO Edited January 15, 2010 by foxshooter69 Quote Link to post
Blakloks 5
i didnt get a nasty letter mate Quote Link to post
foxshooter69 6
If thats the case, then i would definatly apply for your FAC if thats what you want, (but you would only have got a letter if you are a SGC holder). regards mark Quote Link to post
