out in the rain tonight!!

Recommended Posts

well myself and the bro headed out tonight as we have not been out due to the big freeze we had..

the rain was bucketing down and we didn't stay out long 45mins max..

the dogs had a pair of rabbits each and as we were heading back to the van we spotted a fox and i started to call him in..

we don't usually go for foxes actually my black lurcher has only been slipped on about 3-4 but never connected and my pup has never even seen one till now..

anyways the fox came in at quite a rate and when it was about 20yrds away we slipped both dogs not really sure what was going to happen..

my black lurcher made a strike but the fox turned and he missed..

the fox got about a further 30yrds and the pup picked him by the arse

he got bit but he never backed down and then my black lurcher was on and he got a few bites before he transferred to the neck and killed it quickly...

am delighted with my pup as he has never even seen one before and was very keen and my black dog well he is a bit crazy anyway lol..

1st of many im sure.

This is hunting at its best.Watching a dog you put a lot of time and effort into.Standing its ground and making its first kill.Days like that dont come often :clapper::clapper:

very true catcher 1..

iv put alot of time into my dogs and it was nice to see them perform when i wasnt sure how they would do..

for my pup to pick the fox even though he didnt know what it was suprised me more than anything and then for him to get stuck in even though bitten a few times surprised me even more....

but not only that he lamps and ferrets very well and has a few big rabbits which for me is an allrounder just like my black lurcher!!!!

i wouldnt trade em for a 4/4 hare catching dog as for me there just a one trick poney
