FirstBlood 0
After 21 years of being out of shooting air rifles i`ve just bought a weirauch HW77. This was my first and only gun when i was a 15year old, but sold it to go on holiday with a friend when i was 17.Have missed it ever since, and only recently have had the opportunity to buy another as i have lived away since.I didn`t even hesitate, and you know what ,it is just as powerfull, accurate and good looking as i remember.Ther`s something nice about that reliability that doesn`t disapoint .I`ve fitted a 3-9x50 Gammo scope and it looks great.Dissapointed that they dont make them any more, does this mean servicing ,ie.pistons and springs will be a problem to source,or is it easily available to source generick items? Also, does anyone know if i can take it to UK from Portugal without any HASSELS? Ta Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
Getting them serviced is very easy pal and some of the stuff they can do with these guns now days are amazing. VMac i think they call it seems to be the new tuning in thing. Ref Portugal i havent a clue buddy sorry. Zini Quote Link to post
silentshot1 206
Hi mate HW77's are awesome. I love mine and doubt I will ever part with it. I have a PCP as well but the HW77 has a 'soul' in my opinion! As for bringing one back from Portugal it shouldn't be a problem, as long as it is under 12ftlbs. Best thing to do is give the BASC a call. They have a great legal dept. they gave me great advise on an AYA pair I was bringing over from Spain. Quote Link to post
stealthy1 3,964
I have a HW77 and wont part with it, dont think you would have any problems with fetching your gun from Portugal if it was locked in a hardcase and you made it clear to all what it was Quote Link to post
venomviper 129
hi ya buddy i agree as long as it's approved gun case and tell them before 24 hrs before you go i think it is they wont see a problem with it matey but dont hold me to that and i love getting my hw77 out now and then bring's you right back to proper shooting again. regards shay Quote Link to post
FirstBlood 0
Thanks Guys for your information.Regards taking it back , i will certainly act upon seeking info from BASC first. I`ve lived in Australia for the last 11years and over there you need a FAC,so couldn`t get one,and didn`t know about BASC in UK.Cheers for that,I`m looking foreward to this crap weather over here drying up so i can get some concentrated practice in. Glad to here tuning is easily available, along with parts and other things. It`s like being a young boy again with all the exciting things available in this sport. I bought a silencer when I was a boy for my HW77and really didn`t reckon that much to it,ie.low sound suppression, plastic and cheap looking. They`ve probably come a long way since then and I notice that you need a FAC for one now.I do like the look of the HW100 but haven`t yet accepted draging a bottle around and not sure a pellet mag. is detracting from hunting skills required in stalking prey, though i also understand the benefit of having one as quicker loading, but not much else.Any other views out there on the HW100? Lastly, my .22cal HW77,is its power 12ftlbs or is that the power of the .77cal HW77?Cheers Fellas Quote Link to post
