Bootsha 1,306
Whats the strongest/ cheapest weed killer on the market??? I have used powerders mixed with water seemed to work but weeds grew back after a month or so. I wanna get some in now ready for the dry weather and keep on top of the yard.. Get some roundup biactive from your local supplier / farm stores, kills most weeds other than those with bark on them, garlon would be the answer to brambles, heathers etc. Roundup is safe to use in an area where animals are. once its dried its safe, its a translocated, or systemic herbicide that kills from the root to the tip, dead. Hope this helps. B

SNAP SHOT 194
As stated above roundup, or the equivilent is gallup 360, both glyphosphate based weedkillers, they will need a couple of hours dry weather, scutchout 360, or weedfree 360 is the exact same thing. All these products kill from the root back so it will be about a week to 2 weeks before you see the weeds dying, 2 to 3 sprays a year should see you right, If bramble type weeds, try garlon, scrubkiller, grazon 90. hope this helps... Sighthound 49
Agree with round up but it really is a waste of time spraying this time of year as the plants need to be acively growing as soon as you see them making growth blast them
droid 11
Another one for Roundup. The active ingredient is Glyphosate, so use that to get a cheaper alternative if you can.
the_stig 6,614
good old round up shop around[up ] it can be expensive ....
SNAP SHOT 194
Gallup 360 is the copy of round up and lots cheaper, only about 3% difference in total glyphosphate, happy shopping. Snap.
spade 224
Anything glyphosphate based but you will find the stuff in your local diy is only based on 120g/l where as if you go to a farm suppliers you can get stuff that is 360 g/l. Although it usually comes in bigger containers ie 5 litre it works out loads cheaper than weaker stuff in the diy stores.
woz 260
round up is bloody useless. they watered it down for the public and unless youve got a spray liecence you will just end up with shite thats aimed for public gay garden use....you wont beat red deisel for permanent death to weeds....possible not that enviormentaly friendly though
Giro 2,648
Cheers for advice lads.... Woz whats the crack with the cherry diesel just chuck it down neat and it will kill evey thing??? I was reading up on some crazy american site you can make a solution of vinigar and salt and its really effective and will change the ph level in the soil rendering the soil none fertile is there some truth in this or is it just rubbish?? That round up is pricey but might save me more money in the long run as the cheap stuff from B and M bargins did not touch it really... Its just weeds consantly growing between my flag stones
Sighthound 49
No salt will work if you put it in all the cracks of your slabs, also a flame gun works well and is quite satisfying
mandog 37
I use biodiesel it really does kill them dead.
